CM Punk returned to the public eye on Thursday night, appearing as a color commentator for a Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) event. Punk was not asked by his broadcast colleague John Morgan about his recent triceps injury, his standing with AEW, or the timeline for his return to the squared circle.
Wrestling Inc. spoke with former WCW President Eric Bischoff about whether Punk should return to WWE. Bischoff replied, "He's old, he's fragile, he was never in great shape to begin with, he didn't start out as an athlete, and now at [44] years old, he's fragile as hell So what would you do [with him]? Especially in WWE, where the intensity, and the physicality, and the schedule is so much more than it is in AEW, just the sheer workload... I think the audience has kind of turned on him. I'm sure he still has some die-hard fans out there and all that, everybody does, but the general audience, I think he left a really bad taste in their mouth, and they realize that that mystique is no longer there, and he's just another guy. So I don't see the value. I can't imagine it." You can see more comments from Bischoff about Punk from the interview at this link.

Chelsea Green is officially gone from IMPACT Wrestling. During Thursday's night episode of IMPACT! on AXS TV, Green lost to former IMPACT Knockouts World Champion Mickie James. In a backstage promo with Deonna Purrazzo, Green was upset that she didn't beat Mickie James and said, "I was supposed to beat her. I was supposed to retire Mickie James, Deonna. I'm going. I'm going home. Deonna, I'm going home."
Fightful Select is reporting that Braun Strwoman's recent tweets have earned him significant heat with his co-workers in WWE. According to one Fightful source, Strowman has been on his best behavior backstage, but refers to the former WWE Universal Champion's uglier side as "social media Braun." WWE management is reportedly aware of the situation and feels that Strowman acted immaturely.
"WWE Raw" commentator Corey Graves came to Strowman's aid on his "After the Bell" podcast. Graves said, "To everybody on the internet that's all up Braun's ass about Braun being proud of himself, and him — in his opinion — declaring that was the greatest big man match of all time, look, that doesn't have to be your opinion. Everybody's entitled to their opinion. That's how this business works. It's a subjective business. Braun delivered and Braun was feeling himself and he's got a whole bunch of people all up in arms about him saying, 'I'm the best.' You know what? That's what this game is now. This game is about self-promotion."
